Annual Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) | October 24-29, 2017

The 59th Annual Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) will be held Oct. 24-29, 2017, at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. WIHS has been an equestrian tradition since 1958 and is one of the country’s most prestigious indoor horse shows. More than 500 national and international horses and riders come together to participate in various competitions and events. The WIHS attracts a high profile list of attendees including presidents, first ladies, celebrities and business leaders but it truly is an event for anyone who loves all things equestrian. With more than 26,000 spectators in attendance, the six-day show hosts numerous world class events to entertain people of all ages, including children Highlights include: $130,000 Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping Washington, presented by Events DC, for the President’s Cup Puissance (high-jump), presented by The Boeing Company  WIHS Equitation Finals featuring the country’s top junior riders Kids’ Day, presented by Discovery Communications and EQUUS Foundation, Barn Night, and the WIHS Shetland Pony Steeplechase Championship Series, presented by Charles Owen, entertaining exhibitions, community activities, the WIHS Silent Auction and fabulous shopping in more than 60 specialty boutiques round out this exciting week.  See Event Schedule for details. The minimum group size is 10. Capital One Arena, a state-of-the-art professional sports and event venue, has been home to the Washington International Horse Show since 2000. Capital One Arena is located at 601 F Street, NW (corner of 7th and F Streets, NW), Washington, DC 20004.  Take Metrorail or Metrobus to the “Gallery Place-Chinatown” stop for an easy trip to the show. The Metro station is located at Capital One Arena.  Directions to Capital One Arena.   Capital One Arena has its own parking garage located on 6th Street NW under the building. The charge is approx. $20 for event parking. The garage opens 1 ½ hours before show time and closes 1 hour after the conclusion of the event. Alternatively, there are several public parking garages near the building including Gallery Place’s parking garage on 6th Street NW and the parking garage next to Rosa Mexicano restaurant on F Street NW. There are at least 10,000 parking spaces located within blocks of the arena.
