HERNDON FESTIVAL June 1-4, 2017 777 Lynn Street, Herndon, VA 20170 Come join the fun in this annual outdoor festival featuring musical entertainment on four different stages, carnival rides, art vendors, business vendors, food and a firework display on Saturday night. VINTAGE VIRGINIA WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL June 3-4, 2017 12:00 pm-6:00 pm Bull Run Regional Park 7700 Bull Run Drive, Centreville, VA 20121 Vintage Virginia offers an opportunity to taste wines from over thirty local wineries. Come try your favorite wines, find new favorites, and purchase bottles to take home and enjoy all summer. Experience DC’s hottest food trucks, live music from great regional bands, and family friendly kids activities. Cost: $30.00 in advance, $35.00 the day of the festival. FESTIVAL June 9-11, 2017 Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, Virginia 22035 Celebrate Fairfax! showcases more than three hundred exhibitors, food vendors, and interactive activities. Enjoy live concerts on eight stages, Innovation Health Children’s Avenue, a petting zoo, the Fairfax County Karaoke Championship, carnival rides, great festival foods, and the Fairfax Express Trackless Train Ride. Nightly fireworks are a highlight of the festival. This year’s Bud Light Main Stage will feature top national headline performers: Bush and Everclear. Cost: $15.00 for adults, $5.00 for children. MARINE CORPS SUNSET PARADE June 13, 2017 7:00 pm US Marine Corps War Memorial Arlington, Virginia 22209 Tuesdays throughout the summer months, the Marine Corps performs a one hour Sunset Parade featuring the music of “The Commandant’s Own”, The United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, and a precision drill by the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. TASTE OF RESTON June 17, 2017 12:00 pm-11:00 pm Reston Town Center 11900 Market Street, Reston, Virginia 20190 This outdoor food festival features samplings from the region’s restaurants, live entertainment on four stages, community vendors, Family Fun Zone, and a Wine ‘n Dine area. Live music, vendors offering a variety of foods, a carousel, and other activities. The Water Mine waterpark will be open before at an additional cost. FAIRFAX INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE July 4, 2017 10:00 am-12:00 pm Downtown Fairfax Historic District, 4100 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, Virginia 22033 Come enjoy this colorful parade through the historic streets of Old Town Fairfax. Participating in this year’s parade are eight high school marching bands, horses, clowns, armed forces color guard, City of Fairfax fire department, and large inflatable parade balloons. FAIRFAX HIGH SCHOOL FIREWORKS July 4, 2017 6:00 pm-10:30 pm 3501 Rebel Run, Fairfax, Virginia 22030 As the sun sets, enjoy music during the evening show at Fairfax High School. There is entertainment on a stage with a spectacular fireworks display that follows. This year’s entertainment includes City of Fairfax band, Party Like Its…, and the Hacken’s Boys. Fireworks 9:30pm. LEESBURG INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION July 4, 2017 10:00 am Ida Lee Park 60 Ida Drive, N.W., Leesburg, VA 20176 Put on your patriotic best and join your friends and neighbors to celebrate Independence Day in Historic Downtown Leesburg, beginning at 10:00am. Back this year is the American Originals Fife and Drum Corps, adding a patriotic sound to the parade and a favorite among parade viewers. Enjoy a night of great music with Sub-Radio and the Robby Limon Band performing favorites from the 70’s era. Gates open at 6:00pm. A full food court will be onsite with funnel cakes, ice cream, burgers, hot dogs, and so much more. NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE July 4, 2017 11:45 am Constitution Avenue and 7th Street, Washington DC 20037 Thousands spectators come out to celebrate this patriotic tribute to our Nation’s Capital. The parade includes bands, fife and drum corps, floats, military and specialty units, giant balloons, horses, drill teams, VIP’s, and national dignitaries. LIVE FROM THE NATION’S CAPITAL: A CAPITOL FOURTH July 4, 2017 8:00 pm-9:30 pm West lawn of the United States Capitol 1st St. and Constitution Ave., Washington, DC 20003 A Capitol Fourth is a huge concert broadcast live by PBS on the west lawn of the United States Capitol, and puts viewer’s front and center for the greatest display of fireworks anywhere in the nation. A Capitol Fourth always includes legendary Grammy Awardwinning singers, performers, and members of Armed Forces. The finale of the show always concludes with a rousing rendition of Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” complete with live cannon fire simultaneously with the fireworks. Attractions include a carnival, rodeo-bull riding, horseback demonstrations, magic acts, live musical entertainment, and a special dinner each evening.
